Hello everyone!

This week we'll look into the lore of Earthrise and introduce you to just some of the "organizations" in the world that players will be able to aid in their ambitious plans. By doing favors for these organizations, players are able to gain access to "design technology" that these specific organizations have a monopoly on. Players can in turn, apply this technology to items, creating unique, powerful, and highly-sought after creations.

Alpha Sisterhood. This organization is comprised of female scientists, who train their minds and emotions through consuming training to achieve the ability to control energy currents with a psychomorphic interface. Their studies over emotive interfaces have allowed them to create a new direction in armament, called Cybermentalism. Their goal is to achieve a new level of evolution, falling in line with the Continoma politics.

Seeyen - A subculture of people with incredible psionic gift, the Seeyen have chosen a life of seclusion far from the prying eyes of the rest of the citizens in a village located at the western beach of the island. While they cooperate with Continoma, they do so only to ensure their comfort and security. They are aware that for Continoma their village is a test bed of studying the psionic potential of the human mind.

Consular Guard - The Consular Guard are defenders of the Continoma cause, although not directly under its authority. They believe in law and justice, at any cost. Gathered at first from SVS officers, they attract promising subjects from the civil population and through long and hard training they maintain an elite combat division, directly funded by Continoma to fight against criminal activities across the island.

Enforcers – A group of veteran soldiers united by their dark and criminal past make up the Enforcers. Once they sided with Continoma as mutant extermination squad- sent on the worst assignments where they were supposed to eliminate all “inconvenient” subjects to the current regime. When they became the “inconvenient” ones, they left Continoma and went independent, siding with Noir and even the criminal Syndicate. As coldblooded killers, hardened through fanatic massacres against mutantkind, these renegade soldiers believe in brute firepower and intimidation.

All the organizations will soon be fleshed out in separate articles and published in the Lore section of the official Earthrise website. Next week, we'll have another set of organizations ready to share. In the meantime, please feel free to discuss which organization catches your eye in the thread below.

See you next week!

Looks like 2 breeds of technomagic so far.  I like the design tech concept, presumably a player essentially 'learns' a design rather than getting something on paper that they could sell?

It's been mentioned before that it would be hard to have a good relationship with very many of the factions, so presumably each faction would have it's own builders, which is good for variety, but might make for some shortages in the equipment from one faction with no quick way to gain standing other than creating a new character and training him to build.

I think I like it.  ...  I think.   Smiley

Looking good so far especially with the techmagic.

Now, just give me juicy details on the erratics and the eastern gardens.  Grin

hmmm im liking the look of enforcers... i always end up making a massive tough guy with a gun bigger than most other chars so enforcers seem perfect =). Also i can try roleplaying as a psychotic solider =) even better.

The Enforcers sound cool, but I'm also looking forward to more info on the gang or gangs of the Eastern Gardens. Quick question Moll, well actually a little spoiler really, are the Eastern Garden gang/gangs gonna be like the Japanese Yakuza or the Chinese Tong gangs we have today or are they going to be totally different?

Interesting information.  Tho I would hope you do not have to affiliate to any of the organizations to advance in Earthrise.

So what I get out of this is, that crafters has to do "missions" for them to get some kind of technology, which then can be used to build "unique" weapons?

TBH, I dislike the idea of having to do lots of PvE just to improve your abilities, as it was allready stated, that we only do improve our skills by killing mobs etc.

Makes me a little bit sad to see the way it's going, as I initially intended not to do any PvE at all in Earthrise  Undecided
unfortunately, game design in general makes that almost impossible.  Hopefully it won't be much of a grindfest, anyways.  Minimal PvE for a few high level designs that you can trade/use in multiple ways (or just make tons of money off selling)

i'm hoping it will be more of a long, ongoing quest chain rather than a "kill 200000000000000 of these mobs for reputation"

You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact it may be necessary to encounter defeat so we can know who the hell we are, what can be overcome, what makes us stumble and fall, and go on.

That's how I read it first too, but all it really says is 'doing favors for', which *could* be interpreted as doing anything that benefits that organization.  You play eve, right?  You get standing with one faction for killing the pirates of that faction (Caldari and Guristas, for you eve folks).  Since many players will belong to a specific faction, killing the players of an opposing faction could be an option as well.  Here's hoping.

...

Of course, now that I think of it, that would also lead to exploiting by creating a new character, joining the opposing faction and killing him over and over.  hmmm...  :s

That's likely the direction the 47th is going if nothing better comes along.
